Summary: This book is outstanding!! For readers who are fans of Patterson, Sandford, Grisham, Baldacci!! The premise of this story is that back in the 60's when civil rights were being fought for and the government passed the Civil Rights Act, there was a violent offshoot of the KKK that was against these changes and people that supported these rights called the Double Eagles. This group is violent and has no qualms about ending the lives of anyone who isn't for their vision of America. Viola Turner's death in 2005 is the catalyst for the story that unfolds and leads the characters down a dangerous path with fatal consequences. This is the first in a trilogy but sixth in the Penn Cage series by this author.
Don't be put off by the size of the book!! The author keeps you engaged from the beginning and never once lets go. This book has suspense, history, and asks the reader what would you do for family, for justice, and for self preservation.
