Title: Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas Pages: 416 Summary: Celaena is Adarlan's Assassin. At the age of eighteen, she has struck fear into a lot of people and has killed more than her fair share of people.  This story opens with the reader meeting her as she is serving out her life sentence. Her reprieve comes in the form of the Crown Prince who is in need of a champion for his father, the king.  With her reputation, he feels she will be a perfect candidate and of course she agrees because she's been given a deal she can't refuse.  Celaena is now at the the glass palace training for the competition and being caught up in court intrigue.  She finds herself falling in love with the Crown Prince as well as making friends with a princess and a dead fae queen.  Becoming the King's Champion, stopping murders, and following her heart makes this a really great read and has me wanting to complete this series.

Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny

Image
Title: Down the Rabbit Hole: Curious Adventures and Cautionary Tales of a Former Playboy Bunny Author: Holly Madison Pages: 352 Summary: Holly Madison provides an honest look at her life as a Playboy Bunny. She shares the bullying that she endured at the hands of other Bunnies as well as her toxic relationship with Hef. The reader is given a glimpse into what it means to live inside the mansion, the requirements of being one of Hef's girlfriends, and the cost to her identity. This isn't a "woe is me" memoir at all! Madison does share the ups and the ways she grew into the person she is now. There is humor found throughout and the reader is able to relate to her. I enjoyed this memoir very much for its humor and honesty.

Finders Keepers by Stephen King

Title: Finders Keepers by Stephen King Pages: 448 Summary:  In 1978, Morris Bellamy, a rapid fan of author John Rothstein, decides to seek justice for the way his favorite fictional character, Jimmy Gold's story ends. Morris Bellamy ends 1978 in prison serving a life sentence. The reader is moved forward to 2010 and the time of Mr. Mercedes when introduced to Pete Saubers and his family. Pete's dad was a Mr. Mercedes victim and the family has fallen on hard times but just as the Saubers are set to implode, Pete finds a solution.  Unfortunately, this solution will change the course of his and his family's lives as well as reunite readers with the three unlikely heroes from Mr. Mercedes. As well as provides an update on Mr. Mercedes himself. For fans of Stephen King, this will be a disappointment especially with the comparison of Misery. The story isn't all that interesting and it's highly predictable. Here's hoping the third instal...

The premise of this story is that back in the 60's when civil rights were being fought for and the government passed the Civil Rights Act, there was a violent offshoot of the KKK that was against these changes and people that supported these rights called the Double Eagles. This group is violent and has no qualms about ending the lives of anyone who isn't for their vision of America.  Viola Turner's death in 2005 is the catalyst for the story that unfolds and leads the characters down a dangerous path with fatal consequences. This is the first in a trilogy but sixth in the Penn Cage series by this author. Don't be put off by the size of the book!! The author keeps you engaged from the beginning and never once lets go. This book has suspense, history, and asks the reader what would you do fo...
